    Recruits

The truth, you can do all the research you possibly can & then commit to the “right fit” or “best fit” and still get it wrong. (Just ask all the transfers in the portal every year.)

Because the truth about the “right fit” or “best fit”. You won’t actually know it was the right school for you until you’re there.

It’s sales pitch used by many, especially recruiting services. Save your $3,000 and spend it on things that can get you seen in front of colleges. Do it yourself.

If you’re with a good club and have a good coach who is already connected, you don’t need recruiting services.

At the end of the day, if your kid is good enough to play at the next level and can ride for free, what’s $3k in the grand scheme of things?

They do but Matchfit is the #1 to bleed the parents! The private schools, players and parents do the search on their own.

Most top clubs do not help with recruiting at all. I actually think the 2nd tier clubs work harder based on anecdotes from people we know. If your D plays for PDA or WC, the club view is that you are on a top team playing the best competition at the best attended showcases and from there it is on your to do the work tp contact coaches.

I agree, but also I have a lot of experience in the game from various levels and roles. There are a lot of parents who don't. Just like some can teach their kid to ski, others send them to lessons. Math tutors exist for a reason. So, I know of people who used the services and they say it was helpful. I had one conversation with one and laughed at the sales pitch and said never again.

Anyone who makes a decision based on a sales pitch are lazy and do not want to do their homework to become educated about the recruitment years. I spoke with many parents of players who successfully navigated this process and listened and learned from their experiences. Too many people do not vette these services beforehand and that’s the problem. Become educated about these services and more importantly have serious discussions with your DOC and coaches about your daughter’s talent. These services are not a short cut for success. This takes hard work and a lot of research.
