Snacks in between games at tournaments

Does anyone cringe when you see kids eat junk food in between games at tournaments

Yes, even on my own team...its hard for me to bite my tongue watching a 12 year old boy house a bag of chips and a burrito between games

I hate it!! I’ve seen kids eat burgers and fries in between games. Even candy bars.

Once again, you folks need to relax. Burritos are not necessarily 'junk food' depending on quality of ingredients. Same for burgers.

I'll admit, we take a lot of care around what we eat and what we feed our son. But, we also have some perspective. These kids are doing an insane amount of exercise, so it's not the end of the world if they have a bit of junk food from time to time.

And tournaments are an especially tricky time to maintain good dietary habits, with schedules, etc. Which is why we bring our own food. But if that doesn't always work out, not the end of the world to eat less than perfectly on occasion. The real question is what they eat day in, day out, over the long-term..

Thanks for not being a complete psychopath. We eat anything from apples/peanutbutter/carrots/turkey whole wheat sandwich/fresh fruit to chicken tenders and fries and popcorn. They are kids and this is youth soccer. The rest of you should get a grip

The best player on my daughter's team eats so much candy between games. I hate it personally and tell my kids to stay away but she's the best player on the field every game, so I guess it works for her.

how dare they eat something the like after burning 1,000 calories on the field. Just let me eat my taco salad since I am watching 2 kids at the same tournament

Kids should be eating healthy options in between games. You are what you eat. Fuel your body with energy that will last.

Have you seen what most parents look like on the sidelines? I couldn’t care less what my young child eats right now as long as she’s burning calories and having fun and performing well. Take a look in the mirror flabby.
