What should your child do in their off season? Training? Summer select? Take a break?

That’s a tough question. You need to be actively training and playing soccer on some level. But at the same time easing up a bit. If you want to create a mentality to be a top player it isn’t easy. There really is no such thing as off season. You need to work on weaknesses and conditions and footwork. With that said rest is also important. It’s a fine line IMOP

Body needs rest, every athlete does. Take few weeks off then start to ramp up fitness and skills on your own.

My daughters knees and ankles always hurt around this time of year. Strengthening and rest are important. You can still get touches in though without over using your body.

Our club doesn’t have an off-season. But as a former player, ball work, strength and ability on your off days is how you separate yourself from the rest. Coming into the new season in better shape than everyone else is how you stand out. Focus on juggling, wall work, and running with and without the ball!
