Thanks for the link. It def helps. I wonder if they truly will go to grade in school over birth year. Seems like it makes more sense.

The birth year makes so much more sense and is so much better than the old August 1st cutoff date. calendar year is on par with how everyone else in the rest of the world does it.

it doesnt avoid trap players that way. Right now the only players that should be "trapped" players in NJ are October, November and December kids. Kids get left back, parents keep their kids back. Different states and counties have different start dates for school. We know tons of July kids that are a grade behind our september daughter. If your kid plays middle school soccer they will play that instead of the fall seson with club team. its a few weeks and then back to normal during the winter.
”keeping kids back” has nothing to do with club soccer, only school soccer.
