There's a group of parents who socialize before and after the games. Sometimes, they don't even watch the practice they actually LEAVE the field, with their child unattended, and go sit at a bar or do some ungodly thing. When we are away at tournaments, they gather in the hotel lobby and I can just hear them laughing and cheering. No doubt they are drinking alcoholic beverages and I wouldn't be surprised one bit if some weren't sampling the devil's lettuce. The rest of us just sit there and stew, knowing those few feel it's their right to have a good time. It's tearing the team apart.

Once I hit "devils lettuce" I knew this was master levels of trolling going on.
However to the parents that are getting annoyed with the party parents who don't take things seriously. Over time these kind of parents filter themselves out as the level of competition goes up.
Just let it go + be nice + look for better opportunities at different clubs. Usually top clubs monitor and define parent behavior.

Parents, please, snuff that blunt, put down that pint, get on those sidelines and make sure you are both seen AND heard.

Third and final kid, they all played at many levels. Never once have we been on a trip where 1) Alcohol was not permitted for parents’ consumption 2) there was ever a problem.
I’ve never even heard it addressed or to be a concern. In most cases coaches never dined or hung around the team after the last game of the day and I’d have to assume they are also having a pint or two.

Lemme guess...you plop that chair and umbrella on the center stripe, setup the tripod and your 48-oz Dunkins at the ready a good 30-minutes before first touch, right?

No, my kid attends all practices and games and plays Futsal.
We do show up early before sessions.
