    Stop Clubs Misleading Parents

Infuriated with clubs who are ECRL selling their teams as "ECNL". You aren't, your teams are 2nd tier teams that will almost certainly not get promoted in the time frame you're trying to sell parents. These clubs should be required to disclose 2ND Tier League, Also, stop using Pre-ECNL, Pre-MLS, Pre-GA.
Just label the teams the league they play in, and present to parents the proper development pyramid that your club offers.

If it doesn't impact you why do you care?

          1. The badge still says ECNL. If a parent doesn't know the difference, their kid wasn't going to be good enough to be on an ECNL team anyway.
          2. What's wrong with Pre-ECNL? They play the same schedule and the same teams as the ECNL teams. If you are talking about before that, then yes, I agree, they should be called "Elite" or whatever color the club uses to denote the top team.

If you didn’t do your research on the club then that’s your fault!

clubs are using Pre-ECNL for U11s that aren't playing the same schedule. no issue with the pre-ECNL that is on ECNL website, but EDP playing teams that are two years away from ECNL shouldn't be pre-ECNL

Agree! 2013 parent here - the misuse of "pre" has jaded so many people that other parents in our AG didn't even know there is an actual pre-ECNL league at U12 for North Atlantic.

The only clubs that use a Pre- for U11 are the GA teams. SJEB, CSA, STA, Real all used the Pre-GA moniker, while all the other clubs used a color (blue, black, white, etc).

Inhale little sympathy for parents who don't ask questions/learn about exactly what their kid is being offered. The info is out there.

As for pre Pre ECNL of course it's a marketing gimmick. So is pre or elite anything. None of it really matters until 8th grade, give or take. That's when the umbrella your kid plays under starts to matter more, but only if they have the skills and drive to play in college. If not, play wherever and have fun.
