For many D1 means free or close to free college. Thats real money. And they get to play the sport they love for another 4 years plus get a degree. Anyone who thinks there is something wrong with that does not have an athlete capable of playing at the D1 level

This is false and misleading on so many levels. Women's D1 soccer does not dole out that much money for scholarships. So if your kid is stupid, good luck... Worry about their education, not weather or not they can run up and down a soccer field.

Average scholarship is $10-$15,000.00.

You do the math. There are only 14 scholarships available (at most) and on average 30 players. Superstars/upper classmen might be 100%, but they just means less for others. A bunch of schools do things like "you pay the first 2 years and we cover the last 2" knowing that a lot of kids do not make it all 4 years. Its like anything, a couple will get a lot, most will not, but everyone will say they do. Also, my kid got 300% scholarship, just ask me, I will tell you the truth

Congrats to your daughter, but you have to realize she is the exception. We've all seen the stats of % of D1 players from ECNL vs. GA vs other. Easier to find you when you are playing with and against other top players. D1 coaches want girls who embrace that competition in general. Also, the majority of top 25 school have 0 players on full rides for soccer.

You can say that about any ECNL or GA team. It’s work. Less fun for some. Top competition. Some kids can handle it and other rather do something else. Everyone does what’s best for their own kid.

3 kids on my daughters pda team received full scholarships to D1 program that I know of. Again, I don’t ask, but they told. So it def happens.

Nobody makes money if we are being fair. Maybe .1 percent and I suppose most people know that. A pda player likes the sport and is motivated but it’s obviously not the money because none exist. My kid loves the game that’s it.

You don’t have to be top player to love the game.
