Hi all, looking for feedback about Cedar stars Academy in Monmouth New Jersey. Has anyone had experience with this club & their coaches?
Coach Niko Stefanides is the coach of the team we are considering for soccer next year. Girls team. I’m told it’s very high level. How far do these teams travel? Are the coaches very good with young girls?

They travel far in GA. Furthest is Syracuse I believe. He is very good. Tough on the girls. Doesn’t play everyone fairly so you may travel far to sit the bench. If your kids not top 12-14 for 11v11, I wouldn’t go there because you won’t play.

He is a great coach at the younger ages, tough but fair. He has developed some of the top kids at 08 and 09 currently playing at PDA/CS/Delco/PF.

He couldn't develop any of the 09s he was coaching at CSA for the past 2-3 years.

Extremely hard-working and 100% dedicated to his teams. A good trainer and at times can be very tough on the girls. If your daughter is a top half player and has thick skin, I’d definitely recommend.

They’ve gotten substantially worse without him

He’s an ok coach. What he is good at is attaching himself to decent teams at csa to stay relevant. Has zero eye for talent but plays favorites so if you are not starting lineup, don’t bother as you will never hit the pitch. He tries to be tough and strict but can be a jerk at times and a few times he has crossed lines and been physically assaulted by parents. (All on past TS posts). Few teams on csa have threatened to leave bc of him hence G
