    Team needs new leadership.

Against Hex Blue couldn't finish. They had their chances but couldn't finish. When you don't finish your chances and the game wears on it just takes one goal against for everyone to get tight and press, which is what it looked like happened. You don't finish your chances you put yourself in that situation. Credit Hex for hanging in there and taking advantage of it when they could.

Playing his favorites and not the most skilled is finally catching up to Bon Jovi. Nothing is going to change.

STA Parent, what I have noticed mostly watching the PDA teams at the younger ages is that they excelled by being more athletic, could win the 1v1 matchups, lots of kick and run which can work at the earlier ages. They don't play good team soccer and heavily focus on individual skill. It benefits the top 1% but not the rest of the team and you are now seeing these other clubs in the area catch up or overtake them.

Had the opposite experience (at least with PDA somerset- shore and south do exactly what you described). They focused a lot on passing, but not necessarily with a purpose. There was a lot of passing back to keepers and defenders, but not picking your head up to choose the BEST pass (the one that will break the lines). There's a time for backpassing to build out but you need to mix it up. And they kept saying results don't matter, so they lacked that killer instinct. And no, I don't think u9, u10, etc. Results matter, per se, but teaching them not to worry about it means, well, they won't. So they don't give e 150% to try to get the goal to win, or save the breakaway to preserve a lead. And competitiveness isn't a switch. So when results do start to matter, the team lacks that extra gear. I do wonder if part of it is because it's become more of a showcase thing as these kids get older, so they're just focused on individuals looking good versus what soccer used to be, which was trying to win collectively at it's a team. I wonder if going back to the model they have at the younger ages or even the old school model of playing tournaments to try and win state championships and national championships against every team instead of just the showcases for the badges would make a difference.

And that's true of soccer across the board. If you look, our women's national team tends to be, at this point, a group of individuals trying to make names for themselves versus a collective unit trying to win as a team. I'm not saying they don't want to win. Everybody wants to win. But collectively as a team you have to realize that everybody has a role and it's a team game. It's rare you have someone like midge purce, who selflessly gives up the ball to just give the team a chance versus someone who tries to take on everybody (hate shes out for the year).

That's the opposite of PDA. They build a base of technically sound, possession based players. That way they only need a star or two to come in and be strong nationally as they get older.

I dislike PDA a lot becuase they are cocky idiots, but they are very unathletic at younger ages. They often lose to the pure athlete teams and then beat them as they get older. My daughter was told she didn't have the control to play for them. She was 8!! Who has control when they are 8?

No one gets cut at 8 at pda. They don’t even have enough players to fill two teams. Your made up story should have been for an older age group to be believable.

The best thing that could happen to 09 blue is the top two girls don’t play this week. Win win no matter what happens. Now imagine if they play and lose? They have played some right games with those players so you really never know. Funny thing is they have had tough games against much less talented teams. Which begs the question is an uber talented team with terrible coaching the right move?

Pda is just trying new things and getting ready for nationals that's why they're not destroying teams. Plan ans simple..

Pussy response. I think NJ Blaze parents and coach said the same thing when they lost their tournaments. Bottom line is, not having those 2 girls showed that Blue is an average team, soon to be in third place. Make up any excuse you want. Accept the fact you guys aren't #1 anymore.

Wrong, PDA cuts U10 kids every year. Plus I assume by cut the poster meant the top team, no one cares about making 2nd and 3rd tier teams on TS.

PDA has a clear top team at U9 and U10. You think they only have 11 kids trying out for those teams? Of course players get cut.
