SJEB provides a robust development platform that prepares players for the next level. My experience with the club has shown that their focus isn't just on short-term success but on long-term player development. The transition to 11v11 is challenging for any club, but SJEB’s commitment to high-quality coaching and player growth is evident. My daughter plays for the 12GA team and they transitioned to 11v11 a year ago and have won 95% of their games against 2011 clubs, and continue to win against top clubs in their age. We are very proud of our girls!!!!

Next, GA and ECNL both offer significant exposure and competition. The idea that GA teams can’t compete doesn’t reflect the reality. SJEB’s participation in GA ensures players face top-tier opponents, which is crucial for development and college recruitment. However, we will continue to show up at the tournaments to play against ECNL teams as a means to gage where we stack up.

Rankings and tournament wins are often overemphasized. What truly matters is the holistic development of the player, including technical skills, tactical understanding, and mental toughness. SJEB focuses on these aspects, ensuring players are well-rounded and ready for collegiate soccer.

Finally, the recruitment process involves relationships and network building, something SJEB excels at. The presence of college coaches within the club staff speaks volumes about the connections and opportunities available to players.

In conclusion, while no club is perfect, SJEB offers a comprehensive development pathway that prepares players for the highest levels of soccer. Dismissing GA and the club’s efforts undermines the hard work and success many players achieve through their programs.

Not the person you were responding to but thought I'd chime in...

So, your points, yes and no....Yes SJEB does provide some of the best (and really only) technical training in southern NJ area and produce some strong u-little thru middle school teams as long as you are on the A team. B teams don't generally get near the level of training the A teams do. Yes they do have connections to several local colleges but so does just about every other GA and ECNL club. Most of GA and ECNL will produce the same results in terms of college scouting but higher end ECNL teams will get far more and higher rated programs. If the goal is local ie 150-200mi radius then GA and ECNL here isn't much different. Now, bragging about your season last year - I'm assuming your kid was on pre-GA - isn't really something amazing. A bulk of the teams you played, regardless of being a year up, are meh level EDP teams and you weren't really crushing them. Competition will be much better this year from GA to upper level Jeff Cup as players from all over start migrating to GA and ECNL clubs. You can hope and dream all you want but really take a look at every team that has passed through SJEB the last few years. Every team starting around 8th grade has gone through major turn over and has gotten worse. Everyone thinks their team will be that team that stays together but it never happens. SJEB is what it is, a great place at the younger ages for the opportunity for those players who want to excel but not the place you really want to end at unless you stayed in EDP into HS.

I doubt JT will allow BS to keep a good team through GA.

Why does everyone think they coming out wt league after league, ecnl/rl , ga , usys nl , elite 64 , nal , mlsnext , NPL , acela etc…… leagues run youth soccer without them and the platform crap they sell people half the clubs would be in financial trouble , take away ecnl/mlsnext/ga from clubs and they’d be in trouble even the biggest one , just like anything else $$$$ runs it . The people who suffer are the kids , this circle shouldn’t be at odd bc at the end of day paying customers should have the say but in soccer being a small but growing sport in US most parents didn’t play and are used as suckers for this stuff , I’m not a coach or adm but give me a stud wtout any of these leagues and I’ll have D1 schools begging for if their good , system needs scam leagues to close , clubs to offer great coaches who care about the children being drug all over for soccer and actually tactically teach them and don’t wait for next fast kid who shows up to push current ones aside and parents should feel comfortable and have access to coaches in a respectable way on both sides and let coaches who want to teach do so and ween out the scrimmage for hour n half guys n gals ! But unfortunately seems like this nasty climate will continue! Maybe a big time pro player locally can start a club and promote respect and great coaches and not BS leagues !!!!

First, I don’t have a dog in the fight at all as my kid plays for another club up the NJTP, but I too had to add my 2 cents…. I watched SJEB 12GA come back from 0-2 and beat STA GA11 4-3 earlier this summer, and that team isn’t “meh” at all! Esp for a younger team with no GA experience yet. This entire thread is people ripping on this team among others. The guy who keeps defending his team, he isn’t bragging. I’ve watched others trash everything SJEB over and over again for years on here.. According to the poster here, kids there are happy! They are developing and winning at a high level! Leave it at that! We should be celebrating the accomplishments of fellow youth athletes in NJ, no ripping them! Ya’ll want to see this fail so bad!

GA is not “top tier”. It’s second tier.
As far as college exposure, it’s not close.
                        2025 D1 commits:
                        70% from ECNL
                        20% from GA

and the 2012s will go through exactly what the 2010s are going through right now. 2 years ago everyone was touting the 2010s as the best team in NJ and one of the best in the country. Fast forward to today and they will barely field a squad and will finish in the bottom third of their conference.
if you’re on the 2012s now, my suggestion would be to get out now before everyone else. Get yourself on an ECNL roster sooner rather than later.

There is a lot of hate for SJEB! If they suck so bad then why are you so worried about them and what could happen to them! Or is it they do matter and you are afraid of what they could do to tour team and expose your D team….. and as tou can see I am not a SJEB parent. But reading all these posts makes me wonder.

Stop drinking to cool-aid! Yea, ECNL has more D1 college commits, but GA is also a strong and growing league with great exposure and opportunities. The difference in college commitments is because ECNL has been around way longer. Predicting one team’s fate based on a previous team’s situation isn’t reliable since many factors can change, and telling players to switch from GA to ECNL without considering their individual needs is shortsighted. Decisions should be based on each player’s goals and situation, nothing else!

It's amusing to see parents jumping ship just for a badge! You'll be chasing forever. As a D1 coach, I'd rather have a player who showed loyalty to one club and developed strong team skills. This is not an individual sport! For any parent who played at the college level already knows this. Just ask them!
