To put it into perspective, at the 2010G level, the SCP/PDA and Quickstrike "top" ECRL teams went a combined 1-18-1 in the Fall. I don't know how they can possibly put 2 worse teams on the pitch if this league will be constructed with what are considered as "2nd" teams to their ECRL counterparts. But they will find a way to market it as another "pathway", and uneducated soccer parents will jump at the marketing and pay 3+ grand to have their kids play with what everyone else can see is town level soccer.

Trust me, if your kid is playing in this new league at the 2010 or older level (meaning entering HS), I doubt there is a pathway for your kid to the actual ECNL. But I'm sure these teams will find a way to plaster those letters everywhere they they can. They draw attention.

Every club has teams that need work. Including SCP. Its a matter if these teams develop year to year. I watched their 07s and 08s at Jeff Cup. 07s played very well, several good players. The striker was a beast. The 2008 team was very talented, every player could play. Had many coaches on the sidelines watching them. I was impressed personally

You completely missed the point. Using your SCP example, their teams were a combine 9-16-3 in ECRL play. They were a combined -33 GD across their teams. Sure, they may a single team within a club that is decent. No one is saying that all of SCP is awful, and THB, the post isn't about SCP, it's about the league. You tell me how a league comprised of teams that are the "B" version of these teams is useful to anyone. The league makes no sense.

gotcha, I misread it. all good man. my bad. I understand your point on the 2nd teams. on flip side, if these clubs do pay attention to those players at the level and help them find a home that fits them. I do not see a problem, you need a place for all players. Hopefully those clubs take better care of 2nd teams compared to my club MF

MF only cares about the winning teams no matter if you are the first or second team. If you are not winning, you are meaningless to them. Winning takes priority over development. Hence why kids get replaced or play less than 10 mins a game. And Mf is not the only club with that mentality ..

Glad we cleared it up. Good luck to your child at MF. With a club that large, you'd hope they'd figure it out. They certainly have the resources!

thanks, I am looking to leave. I know a few MF kids that left for SCP. This is why I went to watch them. I heard what their coach does to help with college process- our coach does nothing, I am on my own and need to find someone to assist me and my kid, plus having her be happy. We are on the NL team, but may leave regardless of the team status

Actually worse than this. The 2011 team is not even their team. They pay the fees and let NJ14 play their games for them. Really strange. They actually wear NJ14 uniforms, but have to play at SCP fields which is close to an hour away.

actually, its not for this one team. My daughter is younger and her and several NJ 14 players are guesting with SCP. We are going to play next year on the 2012s at SCP in Sparta

well with the expansion announced a few weeks ago, do people know which clubs are having boys teams and which are having girls teams (and I guess some will have both?)

Here are the member clubs, which in addition to currently playing in ECNL Regional League, now have an additional level of play within the NPL for their U-13 through U-19 boys and girls teams:
                            • Cohansey SC (NJ)
                            • FC Copa Academy (NJ)
                            • LVU Rush (PA)
                            • LI Slammers (NY)
                            • Manhattan SC (NY)
                            • Maroons SC (NJ)
                            • Monmouth United SC (NJ)
                            • Morris Elite SC (NJ)
                            • New Jersey Crush (NJ)
                            • Next Level SA (NJ)
                            • NY Surf (NY)
                            • Parsippany SC (NJ)
                            • PDA/SC Vistula (NJ)
                            • Princeton FC (NJ)
                            • Quickstrike FC (NY)
                            • PDA Sporting Club Premier (NJ)
                            • Union County FC (NJ)

G league money grab. This is sad. Hope you are ready for some nice long drives for non ECNL competition. Typical tho. Every team on the list has sold lies or just jammed it down parents throats.
