PDA boys. What’s going on?

Hi, I’m in a new parent to PDA having left another bigger club.

right now I’m confused by the whole thing… we’ve so many boys at a practice and it’s a mix of 3 groups. NAL, handful of MLS and the other lower group. Is this the norm? Can’t say I’m best pleased with how it’s gone.

PDA boys have been a disaster for 5 years already. they abandoned their youth program or couldnt form teams for whatever reason and it shows. their older teams are still solid. younger groups arent as good. its where boys that are decent that have great sisters play.

No bigger, recognized club .... lol maybe on the girls side. the boys side, not so much. big? maybe because they keep slapping PDA logos on other clubs like Vistula, Sporting Club Premier, Roxbury.

im sure they mix those kids together at practice because thats the only way the got the lower kids they needed for other teams to accept.

U13 - 2011 MLS - 3 wins - 5 losses - 1 tie (CSA Monmouth, TSF, Ironbound, Real and Red Bull, all from NJ are above them)
U14 - 2010 MLS - 3 win - 6 losses - 1 tie (CSA Monmouth, Real, Ironbound and Red Bull, all from NJ are above them)
U15 - 2009 MLS - 5 wins - 4 losses

We are experiencing a similar thing, it looks like 50-60 kids at practice, perhaps we are the same age group. I understand its part of the "fluid roster" thing... the communication isn't great but I guess there are pros and cons. In reality, I thought it was so fantastic my son made PDA but now seeing some of the kids, I see the quality is not as strong as I thought based on their reputation. Now I am learning that reputation is based on the girls blue teams. That being said, the top 10ish players really are amazing next level looking kids... the rest (inc my own son i'll be honest) are good but not anything you wouldn't find at any of the other local clubs (like we just came from). I haven't heard anything about players being released but with so many kids that continue to try out, I guess will see how that goes. It IS a constant competition in-house so there is no way kids dont get better though. I know we are playing into their hands and its less about any coaching and more just 'have to work to survive' but as long as my son is willing and enjoying himself and playing with good players, I guess it works. There are no 'bad' players at least, just not everyone is 'great'

Well there is when you’re coming from an actual MLS club! 50 players in a quarter of a field isn’t big club stuff. Parents aren’t happy

PDAs reputation is for the girls side. The boys are better off somewhere else.

Yep. And then you have those beautiful grass fields that know one practices on. Mind blowing

The truth is, many players and parents will jump from club to club searching for the perfect place but will never find it. PDA have declined rapidly
