It has nothing to do with the league. Its the construct and economics of the tournaments. Lacrosse works the same way. its not ECNL

Thanks PDA Dad. PDA run everything in this league including the hotel system and ensuring their teams stay close to the venue, whilst others get screwed miles away. You must be very naive to think that MO is not running the show and ensuring PDA has every single competitive advantage, from hotel destinations to being the only club who was allowed to cancel fixtures prior to Xmas, to always playing teams when their opponents have traveled and played a Saturday game. Wake up.

Every major tournament and league has this structure, with many threatening disqualification and forfeiture of fees if enough of the team isn’t booked at a sponsored hotel. Some even require you to declare which players are attached to each room and they compare to the roster. Not sure how often they go after teams, but the penalties exist like it or not.

How can they tell if everyone is not staying as a few kids could be sharing a room? Many families often split a room with another family and sometimes add in a child going solo. Seems like an urban legend to me.

actually sounds more like a Wall parent complaining about PDA when they realized they'd have to do an extra roofing job or two to pay for Suzie to play on PDA White or give up their upper level Flyers tickets.

What team/club and event? Never seen it or heard about it happening and I've had kids in ECNL, EDP, and DA\GA over the years.

Different poster and 1) I've seen it happen as well 2) when managing one of my kids teams we were called by event organizers and were told we didn't have enough players booked at a listed hotel. I had basically a day ro prove we had multiple players staying with other team members. There were several families on the team who were low income and had reduced fees already. They couldn't afford a separate room or even to travel with their kids. They had to work.

I find the practice abhorrent but it seems like all the events do it. Clubs are signing your teams up to play and it's in the contracts

I’ve heard PDA own the hotel site that controls the bookings for ECNL events

True that..and only give you one towel per room for the week…and give opposing team only one banana for breakfast…and cut off water

I find charging $10/day per car more offensive
