Why is it worth it to play in the top brackets? What benefit does a U-little team get from it other than the fun experience of traveling to virginia?

I guess when you start a tournament and build its reputation to be the best tournament on the east coast, then you can decide how many brackets to have. Until then, who cares? If your kid doesn’t go and play in one of those lower brackets, why are you wasting your time worrying about it?

Coaches decide who they want to go see from a list of players who have reached out to them ahead of time. Just because the lower levels offend you doesn't mean they don't have value to the players amd teams.

Every tournament will have as many brackets as there are teams willing to pay and fields available to host them. Tournaments are events put on to raise money for the organizers, not an altruistic event.

Every tournament from your local town to Jeff Cup to ECNL showcases are all done for money. These are businesses putting the tournaments on. Their job is to make money.
