STA only have ECNL on the boys side. It’s a secondary league at best. They don’t have MLS Next or ECNL on girls side so yes lower level leagues compared to the highest level of play.

How is ECNL a secondary league? It is a rival to MLSN and a pipeline to college?

Put the meth down. As leagues ECNL is a distant 2nd to MLSN. On the girls side ECNL dominates. Both have a few B league clubs that can compete in A.

With so many MLSN clubs in the northeast now, is the gap widening between MLSN and ECNL? Is this showing up in the recruiting stats with ECNL boys having a more difficult time making it onto college squads than in past years when there were fewer MLSN programs?

Correct. Friend plays for top mlsn club in ct and going to an average d3. The rest of the team had mediocre commits with a few going d1 but nothing exceptional. It was a tough year and they finished top of their division.
Boys is much harder than girls, many taking gap year

There are no top MLSN teams in CT, and especially not OW. Beachside is ok, not great. OW used to do fine also but the last 2 years has been terrible. Evidently their girls teams are terrible too. If anyone bought OW they may regret it.

A lot of MLSN kids wind up at D3s because 1) there are fewer D1 teams than women (about 100 fewer) and 2) international players often take 4-8 spots on each team. If that's also where ECNL kids wind up, is giving up high school worth it for MLSN? Face it, there's some teams that are pretty poor in the league

Why would anyone regret buying OW, they set the standard in CT, a little down recently but great upside, especially on the boys side. Only 2 MLSN teams in CT, OW has the much better upside by far.

Well sure, upside from the basement I guess is upside ???? Their facility is lacking, poor teams = poor coaching.

What is wrong with their facility, teams or coaching?

This looks like a better facility than any STA or PSA location has

Clearly you've never been or played their teams. Facility is small and crumbling. Not a great location either. Teams are all bottom 1/3, boys and girls. If teams are that consistently poor something is up with management, coaching or both.

have you ever been to the SDFC facility where PSA North plays? from the pictures, the OW facility is the Taj Mahal in comparison.

Special thanks to all the C team parents paying $3500+ a year for the funds to make this purchase

OW is still the best destination for good competition and development on the boys side in CT. The other programs are better on the girls side. OW was the standard and will be back on top with this new partnership and investment.
