The idea that anyone believes this is a soccer-centric issue is surprising to me. In fact, soccer people are less crazy than a lot of other sports parents. Deal with hockey or baseball and you will see true parental insanity.

agreed - it is every sport. Soccer is somewhat less crazy tho getting worse. Baseball and American Football with need to do something... those sports are dying.

I gotta be honest tho... I can barely sit at a college/professional sports game anymore. the ref/coach/player hate is just crazy.

Wvery slort had crazy parents, some just have more than others. "Most" soccer parents are pretty normal, but only tales a few to wreck it for everyone

This a combination of people who are self absorbed and living vicariously through their kids. Most parents think their kid is the whole team belong somewhere better and are overall self absorbed because they weren’t good athletes and didn’t “make” it.
Think of it this way parent insane for something that essentially doesn’t exist in the soccer world.
Girls honestly forget it. Maybe you get a savings coupon if you are lucky off of college obviously most get nothing.
bBoys is just as bad. College is essentially pointless other then a handful of schools.
Pros it’s just not happening unless you are one two or three teams and obviously even then it’s a king shot.
So yes parents are nuts over essentially nothing.

That’s because coaches tell parents want they want to hear just to get their checks. It’s all about the money, not the players. Match Fit is notorious for lying just to add kids to the roster. As they get older it gets worse. MFA are now charging extra for recruiting fees even though they know most of the players have no chance of ever playing in college. Don’t be scammed, just let your players enjoy the game without all the BS pressure that is put on them.
