Holy crap what a joke, between conference, state and group all-teams....

All-state selections are generally a joke for many reasons already noted. Here's an example from a neighboring state which epitomizes the flaws: Certain player is a D1 commit, and has been recognized as a HS All-American, yet doesn't get a sniff at All-State. How can you be good enough for for All-American, but not All-State?

In NJ the All American game which was played yesterday is Seniors only. Then United Coaches is any player in HS regardless of age. D1 commit term is also used loosely, there are a lot of D1 schools out there. Some very poor as far as level. NJ put kids at the game that were somewhere in the all state teams. I think 3 were also United Coaches all American. All the NJ kids are attending P4 schools except 2 -Princeton and Villanova.

NJGSCA picks are out. Food isn't the best but should be fun seeing familiar faces at the banquet in January.
