How does carding work for programs like NJ Nationals FC Select?

I am just curious, I cant see how it could work. Their team consists of players from other clubs. From their website it says:

The NJ Nationals "Select" program is open to U13 - U14 players and is offered as an advanced supplemental program to the most talented players in our partner clubs. Players in the Select program MUST play for one of our partner clubs as their primary team (Berkeley Heights, Bridgewater, Clark, Hillsborough, Legacy, Scotch Plains or Summit).

So they have a U14G team in Mid Atlantic Premier 1. But Scotch Plains and Berna Legacy have teams in Premier 2 (and other teams are in EDP Premier 3 and below). Are girls from Scotch Plains and Berna Legacy playing for a 2nd team in the same league with a 2nd club?

    Just confuses me

Yes they are. Edp doesnt care.

All dodgy rule-bending that EDP pretends they can't see, so they can let all their buddies abuse the system. But remember EDP is meant to be a professional organization. If you pay the extra registration fee that's the point Every Dollar Possible (EDP) stops caring, they are far too lazy and incompetent to follow the rules they set out.

Isnt there a check with US Club Soccer/ Club-Pass system when carding? Like, this player is already carded with Summit or whatever?

Somewhat related - Someone said on here at one point that all a club has to do is register a player and a release from a previous club isnt necessary, is that true? Say a club wants to be a jerk and doesnt want to release a kids card after the fall for the next spring season - does it matter?

It’s not a US Club soccer process since all cards are through USYS in EDP. Player is registered as primary with a club and then secondary with 2nd club. Players can’t compete in same league EDP 1-2 v EDP3+.

I think it works similarly to a player being allowed to play EDP Futures and EDP. At the younger ages, NJ Nationals just plays in tournaments which have their own rules. At the older ages, those clubs are all playing in regular EDP and NJ Nationals is playing in Mid-Atlantic EDP. They must be considered different "leagues" by EDP. Seems like a great idea to try to keep town talent for as long as possible...

NJ Nationals play in "13G Mid Atlantic Premier I"
                https://system.gotsport.com/org_even...s?team=1500474
and one of the member clubs plays in "13G Mid Atlantic Premier II Blue"
                https://system.gotsport.com/org_even...s?team=1500397

That is what is confusing. "Berna Legacy" is probably the strongest of the member clubs and probably has a lot of players on the NJ National team. To me is looks like these girls are playing for 2 clubs in the same league which isnt allowed

It was brought up to EDP before and they didn’t do anything about it. Technically it’s not allowed. If you are a team playing one of them, I would bring it up to the referee before the game to check the team name on the cards for you

Other than a birth certificate, which is only used for age verification, how do you think USYS or US Club would even notice unless someone cry's about it? It isn't like they cross check the tens of thousands of players that register and then verify players with like names are different players. Want to card with multiple teams in EDP, register on 1 with full name, 1 with first and last, another with first name middle initial last name, and if you can shortened first name....

It's done all the time. Misspell a name. Change the date of birth by a day. Edp will look the other way regardless.

Aa long as they paid their entry fee, EDP doesn't care. They don't care who cheats, they don't care to enforce their own rules and it allows organizations like this to abuse the system. NJ nationals teams should all be disqualified from the league as they have the same players playing across multiple teams in the USYS flights which is not allowed. But EDP are all buddies with those guys and then they lose a couple grand too. Shows how mindless our state is about soccer.
