Are clubs going to push things back? Last year was ridiculous where you had to tell your old team you were learning basically when the spring started

if you count "open ID sessions," then sure. Far more often it starts with ID sessions, call back some kids for trial practices - OR the coaches have coached against the players. By the time actual tryouts happen, most teams are fairly set.

Not really, not any good teams. Teams check out potential new players over the winter and early spring and rosters are pretty much set before open tryouts. This is especially true of teams U12+

Try outs start in March for all the academies. It’s way too early. First of all, so much growth and development can happen from March to May. And second, it’s so awkward for the families that decide to leave or who didn’t make the team again. Takes away the enjoyment. And why should someone have to make a decision in March when they still have a full season and a summer before playing with that team. The whole thing is stupid.

CSA and MFA shore always overlap some days for try outs.

Really. Who said anything about only top teams. Besides how do you think teams like PDA White RL teams start?

But those "tryouts" are players attending team practices., not mass tryouts. Both coaches and families can better assess fit with the current team. Tryouts are usually a bunch ir non team players and not typical environments.

March is try out. Not practices
