When can a current ECNL player "tryout/attend a training" with another ECNL team?

I know I can probably look it up in the ECNL rulebook, but figured it would be quicker to ask here. Is it March 1st or can you attend a training prior to that date? Thanks!

They are. If you are not happy with your club, you can reach out to other clubs. The rules are about their recruitment of you, no rules about you reaching out to them. If you want to change mid season, you will need to get release from your current club. Just because that’s what the rules are doesn’t mean it’s cut and dry. Depending on how good your kid is and how the two clubs would value her depends on how willing each club would be to pursue a transfer. Meaning the new club may not want to pursue the transfer, and create bad-blood with the old club. Think of each club as work colleagues and not wanting to create office drama.

No rules on dates. Attending a practice can happen at any time. However your current club may give you a hard time about releasing your pass and you will likely have to pay any remaining bill. Obviously you can look at other teams outside ECNL at any time.

Be careful what you wish for. The grass isn't always greener elsewhere. Make sure you're moving for the right reasons and it's a good fit for your player

This simply isn't true. A player that is already carded ECNL or ECRL cannot train with, try out, guest play with, etc. another ECNL club (without written permission of their current club) before May 1st. This is ECNL Rule 2.13 in the rules of competition.

Its technically May1, but clubs will often work it out if there's a reason a player wants to leave. You aren't getting out of the contracted payment terms, though.

Reality check! There are players that train at other ECNL or MLSNext clubs during the winter breaks and have tryouts before May 1st. No club follow the rules! ENCL also has a RULE that coaches should be licensed too and some are not.

They don’t have any rules about coaches level of licensing.

MLSN does and many aren't at the required level

You couldn't be more wrong - rule or not, it happens all the time. Playrrs attend practices atbother clubs all the time either for an immediate move or for the next year. In fact offers for the next season often go out before May 1. How does that happen without attending a practice session/tryout?

At MFS, we don't need to follow the rules, we make our own!
