    Coaches Leaving

Need some help, we stayed at a club solely for my sons coach. My kid loves him, development has been incredible since they’ve been together. Apparently the coach will no longer be working with the club that weve paid deposit and 2-3 installments for already. What’s the best course of action?

Training with the club coach is to develop with the team not just your son. Would stay with the club and take private training with this coach he loves.

Do you know who the new coach will be or anything about them? A decent club will have (mostly) decent coaches and it should be fine. Coaches leave (for many reasons) which is why you won't ever find coach specifics in your contract. You're signing with the club and to be on a specific team. See how it goes in the fall then re-asses. Try not to pay any other monies until after the fall so that if you decide to move you won't loose any more.

you agreed to a contract, even if you only paid part of the fees, you are still obligated to pay the rest. Not even sure they have to release your card. You would be leaving the other players short handed

Unless the contract guaranteed the coach, you're stuck.

If it's really a concern, go to the club and ask to be released and for your money back. In my experience, clubs are usually pretty fair in these circumstances (clubs vary though obviously). Worst they can do is say no, though I can't imagine the club would not at least release his card.

The problem is, the coach was guaranteed in March after the technical director spoke to us. Now that technical director is gone, coach is gone, and 5-6 more coaches have also departed the club. The very few that are left, are horrendous and are on 3-4 teams each. Its incredibly unfair to parents who are now $1500 in the hole before the season even starts.

Run away. Sounds like it's a sinking ship. Sometimes clubs that seem solid blow up unexpectedly. Sucks that you've put in that much already but you'll probably be lighting the rest of your cash on fire

What guarantee? The club will ask for a written document of this "guarantee". They'll show you the contract you agreed to when you paid. No mention of coach and although you're signing for a team, somewhere in there, it'll have wording that your player can be placed on the team which best fits his abilities. So team is not guaranteed either.

Fc copa I’ve heard. Mass exodus of any of the qualified coaches.

This is why no one should sign an early offer. Ever. It’s also why if a club pulls this on me - ALL of my kids are gone. I have 3 kids at the same club that all have standing offers elsewhere. I’ll pull them all out and make them sue me. Can claim fraud in the inducement.

If you haven’t started training yet for next season then they are obligated to refund you bc no services have been provided.

Who are the coaches that left? It’s August 5th and we haven’t received a single email from this damn club. We don’t even know who our coach is!
