Chris leahey named new ecnl associate commissioner

RICHMOND, Va. (July 27, 2023) – The ECNL is excited to announce Chris Leahey as the league’s new Associate Commissioner. In this role, Leahey will help manage all league competitions in both the ECNL and ECNL Regional League, including the league’s national events, and will work to support clubs within the league.

Leahey brings with him over 20 years of coaching experience and has served as the Executive Director of Match Fit Academy since 2009. Following his playing days at Rider University, Leahey jumped straight into coaching at Match Fit Academy in 2002, the club he concluded his youth playing career with.

When you became the executive director of your childhood club, what were your main goals?

I wanted to ensure the club continued its core values instilled in me during my experience. Our co-owners/founders were my coaches growing up, and we owe it to them to continue the legacy they started. Working alongside our Girls Director, Dominick Bucci, we aimed to grow the club in size and resources, while maintaining our mantra of delivering what we promise. We have come a long way in 23 years, however we never lose sight of our role in developing young people both on and off the pitch.

No he won't, MFA has more to lose if they allowed STA in than PDA does.
