Thank MO. Why does anyone subsidize anyone else? You should get what you pay for at any age. HS players get less so they should have to pay less. Makes too much sense apparently to some.

Training in August is weird for any parent but since captains practices/HS camps etc. are already in session it is also weird for the kids. Not to mention if you aren't still playing HS ball in November that probably means the HS teams were not any good to be done playing in October.

Not sure who/what MO is. But, typically costs rise as you climb through years. The younger ones, conceivably, should be charged more since they take up less resources, but since their season is longer it works out pretty equally.

A club will often get together for a pre-season workout before shutting down for HS. As soon as HS starts to end, they then filter into Club. For some HS, that could be end of October, for others it could be 1-2 weeks into November. There would be games around Thanksgiving, a few league games into December, then trainings into March. Then a full-tilt until summer, so it works out by my calculations about 30-35 weeks, or about 8-9 months. Older age groups will often cram more into those weeks.

How are you deciding what is less? Is it dollars per minute on the pitch? Training/game days? Strictly start/stop based on a calendar?

Depends on HS. Hunterdon Central boys and girls both have pick up games x2 a week. Most kids show up when they can, which can be hard in the Summer with travel, summer jobs, etc.

And if you think that is bad then your kid isn't ready to play in college. At worst this was 15hrs a week not including any self training and was usually between 10-12hrs a week. D1 will typically be 30+ hrs a week, D2 can be 25+ hrs a week and D3 20+ hrs a week between training, gym, film, and games.
When do they find time to study? AP courses are still way to go to get GPA up for college admission (and just in case recruitment does not work out).

Twice a week training from September through November with games every weekend and then March through early June with games every weekend for the tweeners.

Lucky to get a couple weeks of HS age club starting in November and maybe do a December showcase/tourney and League is just spring. So in HS they basically start in March. So September through June is equivalent to March through June? In what way? Cram more in how to the degree that 6 months and 3 month are equal?

Also in this area everything is dependent on weather/ice/snow etc.

Yet some teams have nothing scheduled until spring game wise in ECNL.

At NJ Blaze, we take training serious. You don't become the #1 destination club in NJ by taking time off.

Around here, most ECNL teams are playing in showcases shortly after HS season is over. First, PDA holds an informal showcase over Thanksgiving weekend that all the PA/NJ/NY/CT teams are invited to ("informal" meaning they do not publish a schedule on TGS and no scores are recorded anywhere...it's truly just a showcase with good college coach attendance). Then many go to ECNL Tennessee showcase in December. After that, many participate in the Penn Fusion Winter Showcase in February. Of course, these teams are all practicing in preparation for those showcases. Then the actual spring schedule starts in March.

What kind of a club are you playing for with that schedule? Never heard of such a thing. Seriously, don't do any trainings through the winter?
