For an example this weekend down at EDP Summer Classic where Rumson FC CAT 2010B won STA’s ECNL team 4-1. Not just with Rumson but I’ve seen it with other town teams such as Ironbound 2007B who won STA’s and MF’s ECNL team 1-0 and 2-1. Whats the reasoning for this? Is it because some of these teams recruit or they give good training?

I don't know what a Rumson is, but sounds like lumping ironbound in as a town team is a bit too broad. Adult soccer in my town is pickup games at the park before everyone wakes up. Ironbound is a legitimate amateur soccer club at the adult age.

EDP Summer Classic on Father’s Day weekend isn’t a tournament worth anything anymore. You have teams playing up in age, no colleges attending, there’s only experience of playing soccer for fun. It’s a rec tournament.

Very few of the rosters are what their normal teams look like, lots of guesting for missing players, and summer select situations at many of the academies. That's why you saw a lot of "white" team labels, because the academies don't want to screw up their blue rankings, knowing the teams aren't intact this time of year. And yeah, many teams playing up for experience. So wouldn't put much on the results.Though on the girls side anyhow, with a few exceptions, it was mostly the 3-letter clubs topping brackets despite all this.

There really isn't more to it than above. Of course there are strong non-mls and ecnl teams for boys. Just go where your kid is playing and is happy
