MLSNext and ECNL and USYS Top Leagues BS

For majority of BOYS, in MLS Next, top ECNL teams (which doesn’t exist in NJ), or EDP 1 or USYS NL, they’ll all stop playing soccer, at MLSNext only later than other boys.

On public school players not able to play MLSNEXT, when those boys reflect on their lives, 30 years old or so, 1st major high school reunion, will anyone care in the city or school that they played MLS Next? Not at all! They didn’t carry city or school to victory.

Or, will everyone remember the goal or highlight reel from playoffs when one player was in a zone above the rest to lead the school and city to victory!

MLS Next can’t give you meaningful memories like that! Neither can outrageous fees and tournaments from ECNL, USYS, and EDP, it’s all a money grab.

And if you were going to play in college, you’re still playing in college without the MLSNext crap or ECNL bull**** or horrible EDP tournaments where grown men are playing in the U9-U14 age brackets (they don’t really check birth certificates at EDP). The high school coach who played soccer through college with connections can help you more!

There’s no true ECNL in NJ. It’s a money grab.

How MatchFit rosters 30 and doesn’t play kids, then wins 1 game, is ridiculous! Players quit but MatchFit keeps money. Stay away!

USYS on boys side has been a **** show. Traveling thousands of miles, for what?! There’s a huge disparity in competition across the country at USYS.

All this build up for a National competition where there are 5 ways to qualify, it’s a joke and all about money and not soccer from ground up.

The nicest thing you can say is the travel experience. But that’s on your dime. They do nothing but schedule a competition.

EDP does NOTHING but schedule a league and charge you for it. Too expensive and that’s why town clubs are expensive now too!

For my oldest son, EDP was MAPS, tournaments were $495 at Tuckahoe, just 7 years ago. Total BS!

My son’s team in MLSNext didn’t qualify for Dallas.

Do you know how many games we played this year? Roughly 20, that’s it, 20. We went to 2 MLSNEXT qualification tournaments, for 6 more games.

MLSNext is nonsense. My son’s playing HS this Fall.

We’ll figure out a team later. Everyone will take him.

We are in Dallas right now at MLS Next Fest creating memories. Many kids don’t want to play crappy HS soccer. They don’t want to play three games in a week. For all the pros you listed for HS soccer there are a number of cons. Bottom line let your kid decide. It’s not your path and there is no right or wrong answer.

Majority of MLSNext boys teams, including Red Bulls, NYCFC and Union, would lose to Pipeline, Richmond United, CESA, or West Coast ECNL teams, in a straight age group match up, no bio banding bringing down undersized U17 to play U16 for example.

Memories that no one but yourself will remember, LOL!

HIgh School soccer is legit, MLSNEXT players are fragile in their character and mental toughness. It’s a new tryout.

MLSNext players worried about a fresh set of eyes looking at them.

But agree, not every situation is same, there is no right or wrong answer, so don’t lump it in like MLSNext is positive for everyone.

High School soccer is very positive.

Examples: Look at daddy ball at USMNT between Reyna and Berhalter.

Example: every single person denying MLSNext players the opportunity to play PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOL soccer, played high school soccer themselves!

Claudio Reyna and Berhalter both played NJ High School soccer!

Who are listed as top 10 boys soccer teams in USA, U18-19 age group:

                      Ironbound (NJ)
                      Kansas City Scott Gallagher ECNL
                      San Diego Surf ECNL

Then all MLSNext teams around the country, but from NJ perspective, only PDA MLSNEXT is in USA top 10, at #10.

                      #6 is FC Delco MLSNEXT

Someone has a very good point about highest soccer.

Most high school teams never make playoffs. So your point is mostly moot for most high school players.

Is this from a stupid soccer ranking? Which doesn’t factor in league MLS league games. Delco and PDA would destroy any ECNL or USYS team. Don’t kid yourself.

That would be correct. Delco won their MLS Next division and PDA was second. They would murder those poorly ranked teams.

Didn’t U18/19 Matchfit ECNL NJ beat the PDA MLSNext U18-19, and same against FC Delco, so PDA isn’t #1 team in NJ by club vs club, neither is FC Delco for PA!
