Don't forget a good number of teams don't even make the national showcase level event at the end of the year. At that point its better to be on a national level RL team then a bottom ECNL one.

Correct. At the end if the day it's a B team. In a rare case that a player is absolutely elite, she'll get plucked by blue ( rare) or in many cases, girls ( parents) will feel they should be promoted and won't and ultimately leave. The cycle is continuous and these factors just keep them mediocre and at the bottom of the tables.

It’s a monopoly. PDA control 60 (roughly) roster spots at each age group. That keeps them from other clubs. They make the decisions on who gets in and who does not. So they keep the players, cash their checks, and keep the likes of SJEB out of the league even though South results are an embarrassment. White are slipping into that territory. Nothing will change however. It also means the better players on White and South don’t go to a MFA, Bucks, or Delco and ultimately limits their chances of closing the gap.

Do you think good players show up at pda and they get turned away?
The truth is some players on white are better soccer players then those on blue just not in terms of positions. The starting center mid on white is likely a better soccer player then the backup defender maybe even a starting fullback just not positionally. That being said a talented player or two can’t obviously make up the talent gap that exist.

White is awful. The 2010 team has new girls every year and are still bottom dwellers.

My kid loves averaging 3 goals and 3 assists per game against White and South twice a year. Those teams make for great highlite material

LOL and yet better players have left South since they've gotten ECNL. They've gone to Real, SJEB, MF, PDA Shore, and I think 1 or 2 even went to Sporting. I do know some tried out at PF and Delco but they didn't leave. You have players that pass South on their way to other clubs and players who live 5-10 minutes away that would rather travel 1hr plus to another club. White may never close the gap on Blue but they will have up and down years and hover between the bottom and middle of the pack. South will never close the gap and seems to get slightly worse every year.
