People like this are the same ones who say, "well this is how it is, some kids play and some don't and this is what competitive soccer is all about", But then when their team putting out results like the 08s are right now, it's a random string of excuses. It's ok, remember this is what competitive soccer is all about when the 08s play real competition, and the 09s, and the rest. The best part is that the champions league results stand on their own so you can see how STA and Kelly against the top GA teams. Again it's ok, this is what competitive soccer is all about.

They were exposed big time at Jeff cup and this last weekend. Anyone can look good playing some of these GA teams on a weekly basis.

Outside of the top 1-2 in each division of GA, have to agree there. I'd put the bottom 3 in ecnl in the same boat too

Bottom ECNL is about equal to top of GA (of course there are some west coast and southern GA teams that can hang with too ECNL teams but STA is not one of them).

Then how do you explain STA beating Penn Fusion (this was PF only loss), Pipeline, WCFC and SUSA? But losing to top GA teams outside the region? Perhaps ECNL NA/NE is lower level than GA nationally?

Have to disagree, bottom ECNL like PDA south struggled against an edp2 team at the pda tournament. South shore or nefc would beat them 4-5 zip easily. Even PDA white is comparable to STA

Those ECNL teams played their entire roster at PF. It was a warm up to the season. STA went out there and played their hearts out to be able to say they could do it. Have STA play those same teams with starters only and it will be a different result.

Where you getting your information? That didn’t happen sorry. There is video so no need to lie or make excuse. Also it was 2x different tournaments pda and PF so there is that. And it was 3rd tournament of season. PF is an excellent team for our area but not compared to the rest of country. Same with STA.
IMO opinion it shows the weakness of the ECNL in our region and increasing strength of GA in other states. All you need to do is look how those teams did when they played the ECNL tournaments- they didn’t win.

Bottom line- our region has work to do. That’s about it.

When STA plays real competition, the strategy is all out defense.

I saw the 08s play, it's the same thing for all the other age groups. You have talented players, but the lack of development and STA brand doesn't put players in a position to learn the game. The players are fast, skillful and determined, but lack game knowledge.
