I am new to this tryout stuff. For 2011’s moving up to 11v11 next year, do these top-ish (let’s exclude your top 5 or so clubs since they are primadonnas) clubs really make decisions on these 2 day tryouts? Or do they say “yes/no” to the obvious ones and just invite a bunch of borderline people back to practice with the team? What happens to the kids cut? Is it too late for them to find a new team? Seems like teams have to add a lot more players than usual since it will be 11v11. Do clubs just hope they find a couple of players and then just hope for others and if not pull from their B teams (probably collapse A/B/C to A/B anyway)

Do teams really make offers/cut players after 2 days of group tryouts?

Some clubs hold player evaluations prior to tryouts and let parents know whether or not their child should seek another explore other options. At least the good clubs do.

For a 2011 to be cut from their team for next season when roster sizes increase, you would have to be an outlier bottom player. The coach/club should have told you if you were at risk to encourage you to look for options (if they dont and they just cut you, that was probably the wrong club and i dont know why parents flock to those kinds of programs for 11 year olds). Yes if you look like you may be a good fit at a tryout, they will probably invite you to join a practice before any kind of offer. Unless your kid just looks like a world beater and they know they want you. For some kids, you dont have to see them very long to see that they have quality. Many players will already have been attending practices ahead of the official 'tryout' and will get offers from that avenue. With all the clubs out there wanting to make $, your kid will find a place they can play. Whether you would be satisfied with that club/team is another story.

Yes, teams/clubs can and will make offers after 1st tryout and usually have offers given to core players they want to return before that. Most teams/clubs will differ on contact if your kid didn't make it though usually most clubs try to keep everyone and make new teams. You should hear something within a week usually though.
