Earlier today, ECNL announced the creation of a new third-division league called ECNL Regional League - Northeast. This new lower level tier is for the girls program. We understand there is some confusion in the marketplace so we wanted to share further information with our players.
World Class FC currently participates in the ECNL (first-division) and ECNL RL (second division) programs operated by the ECNL League. We currently host teams in every age group within these top two divisions from U12 to U18. This announcement has no impact on our program or existing teams.
The announcement today creates a third-division level of play with some new clubs that do not currently participate in the ECNL program. This lower tier creates a new pathway for players to develop their game within the ECNL network and potentially move to a top-tier club like World Class FC.

Sounds like WC trying to prevent some of their players not playing on the ECNL team or their 2nd team from leaving to be on another clubs team in RL. There is no 3rd tier, all the RL divisions are the same level.... and realistically if by u15-u16 you don't see time on an ECNL clubs 1st team its not happening and you might as well move on and see if the grass is greener somewhere else.Comment

In fact, SCP is in there; they were very clearly a distant 3rd at WC and are now like the 5th team at PDA, right? Even if WC is just trying to keep their current RL players from leaving, there's no question that the teams they will face in the RL New England Conference will be stronger teams from CFC/FC Stars/SUSA than what those clubs will be putting in the new conference.Comment

^^^ also, it's very likely WC was asked by ECNL if they could put a team in this new conference (the same way CFC, FC Stars, Matchfit and SUSA did), and seems like they declined. It's probably the reason why SCP left WC and joined PDA, as this is the kind of thing SCP has aspired to.Comment

Lol pathway. There's no pathway at this level. College coaches that weren't shopping these players before aren't going to suddenly start now. It's just a move by ECNL to bring more teams and clubs under their brand and weaken other leagues.Originally posted by Guest View PostComment

And yet it is separate from the already established RL teams and has current ECNL clubs satellite clubs in it. It is what it is, the same clubs playing against each other that played in USYS/EDP just with another league title.
