The smaller academies charge more but some of those listed mentioned above also offer more too as far as competitive levels for some age groups.

The only real academies are the pro MLS Clubs youth teams. RB nycfc Philly. If you have to pay for it and there's no path a pro team it's just an overpriced travel team.

Not saying they don’t ever miss but to say half the time is not true in our case. The coach would never allow it and they don’t let it happen. They are u17 and know how to handle it.

Im european and played pro youth then semi pro in europe. My son is playing for a "small academy" and we had the option of playing town travel a year up. Town travel is exactly what i thought football in America would be - a few good players per A team, mis-guided, running with the ball until they lost it. Nothing properly tactical or technical being taught (beyond super basic ball mastery stuff) and a fair amount of parents influencing kids getting selected. Some kids dual card and do academy and town soccer - they look like footballers when they are on their academy teams and they look a mess on their town teams.
If you want the USA to be a top football nation it cannot be done with town soccer as the core focus. From what ive seen, academy soccer concentrates quality players in a small group and provides higher quality competition and training. Its not perfect but the USA doesnt have the concentration of "pro youth academies" that Europe has where there will be 25-30+ professional clubs with youth systems in an area the size of NJ that will give the kids the training they need.

At first my daughter wasn't interested in Blaze but now that I've seen the same thing posted on every thread she's totally excited to attend.
