Because at least on the others there is a return on it. Everything you listed sounded like fun whereas paying for you kid to pretend they are good at something is fun?

How about first semester tuition $$$$? That enough to get you to bite. Not a single D1 starter in the bunch but you must have money extra money after the CSA tuition you threw away to throw away some more.

Academic gets you more $ than soccer any day of the week. Focus on academic instead of soccer will get you places.

No Div 1 chances on either team.

So we've already moved the bar from D1 to D1 starter? Knew you'd be proven wrong in less than a year. You'll still be wrong.

Ha Ha… so true. Good catch. It was clearly a ridiculous statement the moment it was posted.

This is where most miss the point and fall for the D1 carrot. Only 1-2% play D1 (emphasis on “play”) per NCAA. It’s a sobering statistic. Academy coaches that keep it real are to be commended not criticised.

The 1% figure is more than likely generated based on the number of kids that play soccer not the amount of kids from academy soccer programs. If you think only 1% of the players from ECNL or GA teams will play D1 you're quite daft.

Agree, good coaches that tell it like it is are quite rare. Appreciate it if you have one. Truth hurts but at least you know where you stand.

Even if you stand in looney tune land? Maybe it just makes you feel better to think your daughter is in the majority going to Mercer County College. She's not.

If the goal is D1 bench warmer then by all means carry on.

My kid went to Rutgers which is D1 and didn't play soccer. Same as the kids on Rutgers bench.

At least the nCAA is keeping things real as they say. They do not sugar coat stats. What’s the % for D2 or D3? I would think slightly higher than D1 no?

Yup D2 is about 3% while D3 is around 8%. So much much better odds than the 1-2% the NCAA quotes for D1.

You nailed it. Out of mfa ecnl pda (3 ecnl teams) sta ga real ga sjeb ga and csa ga there are around 160 kids. Maybe 2 will go D1.

Spot on, the official statistics don’t lie. Tough to get to the next level but worth the journey if you do.
