Good reasons:
- coach had a conflict/is sick. No brainer if it's rare
- want to push players on the bubble of a B team or younger team/see if they can handle being with bigger/stronger players
- mix it up to learn from a different coach, play different players, switch positions etc
Bad reasons/circumstances:
- assigned coach has too many conflicts and is barely a coach (they shouldn't be a coach OR the club is too cheap and has coaches stretched too thin)
- tossing them together is just easer/lazy coaches stand around on their phones or just talking to one another, not coaching their own kids or the other players

In your world all the kids should be training together regardless of talent level. Is that your flex?

You are making some big assumptions about the A and B teams here. A&B teams at ECNL club are very different from A&B teams at EDP club.
