Money Grab of a Dinner to celebrate NJ State Cups

If your child is fortunate to win the state cup in the future, stay away from the dinner to celebrate the winners. it’s not about the winners at all. In fact it’s not even about meritocracy when they also celebrate the three different flights of the state cup on the same night in the same place. I think it was $69 / head and they said they have 1000 people there. Nearly 70 grand later I can’t imagine that the dinner cost more than $25 a head. Each team had about 30 seconds on stage and they gave the microphone to an accomplished professional soccer player, but she was more interested in promoting FC Gotham and recounting her professional career than talking to these kids about anything relatable to where they are in their soccer lives at this point in time. All the adults around us were wondering why she just kept staying things like “I did this here” and “I scored this goal here” and while I agree that she should champion female sports, its shocking that she is playing for a team that is embattled in scandal with abusive coaches, and unequal pay from the likes of King Phil Murphy who is part owner of the team. Standing up for women would be great if she did it saying she refuses to play with a team that allows that happen. I digress, but if your kid wins State Cups in NJ consider celebrating as a team and make your money go further. I also think it’s liberal bull **** that they don’t just have a top flight in state cups. This everyone gets to win state cups is bull ****.

NJYS - the same oprganization that outright refuses to implement tangable standars in the wild business of NJ youth soccer. NJ clubs operate with impunity and with no accountability. From the nightmare that is the NJ tryout process to the bait and switch team shuffling afterwards. Not to mention the slow death of statewide rec soccer for high school aged players.

I mean everyone knows which is the top flight of the state cup or even which state cup means more when looking at NJYS and US Club .

I honestly thought there was a logical purpose for this event in celebrating the accomplishments of the kids lol US Soccer is a money making machine.
