Mercer County 09 Boys

Need honest feedback on the Mercer county clubs and their 09 boys teams. We are moving to the area and are looking for a club for my son but have been burned by clubs before and want to know what we are getting into as he's 09 and it's already difficult to move at this age. My son is a strong player on an EDP premier team in Bergen county and wants to play on a strong team with dedicated players. We've been on teams run by parents and "professionally" run teams where no one shows up to practice. Really just want a professionally run team/club where the kids are committed and work hard.

Here are the teams that we've been looking into:

PDA Hibernian
NLSA Red/Gray (not sure what's the difference)
MatchFit
Princeton FC

The Match Fit 09 boys are a very solid team. ECNL, run by professional coaches, very competitive team.

Thanks. Not too familiar with ECNL, but assume it's not invitational and they hold normal tryouts in the spring?

Yes, there are tryouts for high level players who want to be evaluated during the season (you go to a practice or two) and open tryouts in the spring for anyone who wants to attend.

Depends on the level of your son. I would rank them in the following order.
1- MFA-top tier
2- Princeton- second tier
3- NLSA- mid to low
4- PDA Hibernian - mid to low
The best advice is to attend a training session to see what level your son best fits.
