Lol. Are they really any good? When every parent in the tri state area believes their kid must play at PDA in order to succeed I’d argue a blind monkey got have some degree of success coaching at that club.

It’s all personal preference really. Many find MS to be overbearing and full of himself. NH is a bit kinder. for some they are outstanding. If you aren’t exactly what they like or a long time family it’s harder.
They also have a very specific style of play which works well when everyone is on board. Does it work against the top teams in the country - nope. Teams like PDA Blue are judged by their championship wins. But They haven’t won a championship at any age in 5 years. IMO if they have the top talent and even NT players they should win but they sadly don’t- that you can only blame on coaching.

Well they are playing against other top teams also with NT players. They come from areas where the weather allows for full year training and local competition is much stronger. Some 3rd-7th place west coast teams could clean up here.

I dont have a problem with any coach having a side hustle. They don't make much money. Where there's an issue is when they coach kids from their clubs, or worse their own teams. Even if the coach doesn't treat the private player(s) any differently than all the others, they will be perceived as doing so. A smart club would ban it.

This is dead on. I would just add that for all the extra training MS requires parents pay in order to get playing time, one would think his teams would play a better brand of soccer. You can’t more direct than his teams.

Making 100 dollars an hour for private coaching completely off the books leads to a nice bucket of money pretty quickly.

Youth coaches don't make anything and coaching more than 2-3 teams becomes impossible. Owning a club is where the money is. I'm with the op - as long as they aren't doing privates with their own players go right ahead.

But they are doing privates with their own players sometimes almost the entire team. It’s been talked about forever. Personally I don’t care but not sure why everyone says it’s ok if not own players when that is exactly what it is and has always been.

I wasn't referring to any one club, just a general statement. Like I said, anyone but their own team. Better no one from the club but that makes it harder for them to find clients.
