Its better for everyone to believe they can be elite at some level. do people really believe that the best players are evenly distributed through conferences/ teams?

Elite is rare in anything including all levels of sports. You see the separation more easily in individual sports. Team sports players can hide or impress once or a few times and still not be great or even very good when it matters.

That is why coaches like Church are stifling. They always have an agenda. They have predestined their better players without them having to prove it. Put others in the same, equal situations (with same surrounding players), then watch what happens.

I can watch a U16-18 match and make a determination of a stand out player quite easily. There is no formula or box to check off. College coaches know exactly the type of players they want over all on the team and positionally.

Of course they do, because an elite player in the MAAC is not necessarily and elite player in the PAC-12. there are so many soccer pathway for women that you can define it however you want. some people tried to put Pulisic in the Elite category. Real competition has a way of making things pretty obvious.
