and Yes, my daughter IS NOT Elite based on your standard
Some people are more focused on the education than the soccer team. Being part of a big successful team in it's self it's a great college experience. The social aspect of it should also be considered as our kids are going to be on their own for the first time. The stress of academic pressure is easier to handle when you're part of a group. It's not always about soccer remember they are student-athlets student comes first.

I know players who transferred to mid level program from P5 top 25 teams and are starting and getting plenty of playing time. They have yet to win a conference tournament or get invited to the NCAA. Is it worth it? That’s up to the player. I personally don’t think so. What a great year and great experience for all the players on UNC. Hundreds of club players show up to the UNC camps and clinics and thousands send emails to the coaches at ECNL Showcases.. One of the biggest teams in all of womens sports. Getting identified and asked to be on that team you have to be an elite player.
I can only speak to my Ds experience of playing for a top college soccer program. They dont train much together once the season starts. the focus is on those that do. Those that dont tend to train together. load management means they run after games, they train separately and have very little chance of cracking the rotation. PLAY is the key word. some women want to play and others are happy to sit on the bench. Best not to judge either. Outsiders look from afar and make up stories that satisfy how they think things are. UNC dont have 40 players that are "better" than every player at a school ranked say 50th. Being part of the roster does not make you an elite player. Im willing to bet that most UNC player dont consider it a great year for them. The won most of the games they were supposed to and underperformed vs the teams that have equal talent. they blew big leads at home more than once. Dont forget UNC have one of the biggest inbuilt advantages in College soccer. the "neutral site" is their second home. Massive advantage.

I find it funny that on TS when talking about Club soccer, the general consensus is your a fool to be a bench player on PDA. but when it comes to College soccer its an awesome experience to sit the bench on watch other Elite players play

UNC were .500 vs FSU,UVA,Duke,ND and UCLA. They went 4-4 while playing 6 of those 8 games within 30 mins of campus (Dorrance Field Wake Med or Durham). Real road games were at ND and at FSU. they also lost on the road at VT. Hardly a great year.

Well, if you ride the pine in club soccer you won't have to worry about riding the pine in college, so there's that.

What if you ride the pine for club but have the chosen magnet?

Hardly a great year you say, well that’s your opinion. UNC played against the best programs in the country. The competition and the competitiveness is what matters to this team and any college program at the top of the soccer pyramid. When all was played out they were in the final of the NCAA tournament. And you call that “hardly a great year”. You are just jealous that your daughter is not in that situation. For the vast majority of college soccer players they never win a conference championship in some mid major or get to play in the NCAA tournament. Yet, you diminish the season. BTW, any player on UNC who would enter the transfer portal will have the attention of every coach looking for players and most certainly take your daughters spot/position on the team.

How would you possibly know that? 99% of the kids don't play a single meaningful college game if you are talking national title hopes etc. And I am talking about kids that actually play not kids that ride the pine but somehow have a good time-lol

Hmm, another daddy slingin crap at everyone assuming people are jealous blah blah. Believe it or not there are really talented players out there who choose NOT to go to UNC or other big schools for many different personal choice reasons. Many of the kids that transfer out are going to where they should have in the first place. Nothing special about them

My D plays for a top program so I think i have a pretty good idea of how that group look at their seasons. Thats the problem with this discussion. You are looking at if from the PoV of the vast majority. I am looking at it from the PoV of an Elite player at a top program. They are not satisfied with winning games they are supposed to win. Im not diminishing anything. Im telling you how the top players and teams think. Up to you whether you choose to beleive it or not. As far as entering the transfer portal, what does that nhave to do with the discussion? Again, you are looking at it from the a strange perspective. Top players dont measure themselves relative to average. They want to win the games vs other top teams/players and when they dont, its not success.

LOL, because we do not agree don’t assume my daughter does not play for a top 25 programs because she does. Has been an active participant in league championships and has been to the NCAA as well. Your POV is your own. Your part of the problem thinking you know better. No need to get into a ******* contest. What I have found is that top players first and foremost judge themselves relative to their own team. Every player wants to prove themselves vs. their teammates and have their respect first and foremost. That’s a fact. Next, they are satisfied with every win against in conference or out of conference colleges so we definitely disagree they are never satisfied with wins against lower ranked teams. It’s been my experience that these level players are both mentally and physically tougher than the rest and love playing competitive matches regardless the opponent. Your last line is just laughable.

Top 25 is not the same as a UNC equivalent. i didn't say better, I said different. I think you should take some of the medicine you are dishing out. How many games to FSU,UNC,USC,UCLA, UVA Stanford etc lose to other top 25 teams? Not many. i like the way you give your Pov, then call it a fact!! my last line may be laughable to you, but it wont be to others. In my experience, great athletes in any sport, measure themselves against equivalent talent. Beating overmatched opponents is expected.

Yet they rose to the top in the end. If you're hot in Post season play that can make all the difference. The Yankees crapped the bed during the World Series despite an excellent season.
