I keep seeing champions league for the top 3 teams. Being new to the game, I was wondering how does this work? For example, what counts towards being qualified (Fall and Spring or just Fall, etc) and where is it held this season?

It’s a tournament like the World Cup. You play 3 group stage games and, if you advance, the first knockout round in one location (San Diego, girls, Greensboro, boys, this year). You are usually out in that location for about 7 or 8 days due to the way they space out the games. Then, if you advance, a couple weeks later you go to a different location (Richmond, girls, and still TBD, boys) for the final 4. The two teams that don’t make the finals play each other in a consolation game.

Gotcha, Ty for that summary. Is qualification over at this point based on what happened in the Fall?

Champions League: In the U13-U17 age groups, 44 teams are placed into 11 different groups determined by regular-season standings. Each team will play every team in their group for three guaranteed games. The team that wins each group, along with the next-best five second-place teams will make up the 16 teams that advance to the knockout stage. Meanwhile, in the U18 age group, 16 teams will battle it out in a winner-moves-on bracket to determine the league champion.

There are also 2/3 wildcard teams which factor in winning percentage for total games played (including showcases)
Honestly, going once is enough. It's a long haul at the end of the season.
