My u13 daughter played in premier 4 EDP. She plays attacking mid and striker, and is a solid player in my mind. She plays the whole game or over 90%, and scores one goal a game in the spring and fall EDP league (scores about 60% of the team goals). Her currently team is not a top one and they are average in the bracket. She has beee steadily improving but I see she may hit a plateau. She was thinking to switch to a better team next fall. It may mean less play time, subs, less goals in a more competitive team. Parents with similar experience, sha ll we jump in order for her to get better training and competition?

Yes if she is looking to play in college. No if she just wants to enjoy the game and play with her friends. But don’t jump to another EDP team. Go to a GA or ECNL team.

-what does she want to do? Is she motivated to work hard? Because moving up will mean more competition for PT. Does she want to play in college?
- winter is an excellent time to request she attend some practices at local clubs that might be a good fit. Both you and the club can assess fit. Don't wait for tryout season, do it Jan/Feb/March.

and is she good enough to play in a college that you would want her to go to for her studies? If she is s "division 1" student, but a "division 3" soccer player, than no (given she likes the girls on her team)

The transition was hard, it took her 1/2 to get acclimated to her new team. But now she has flourish and is now one of the best players in the team.
I hope this is helpful

Wish my kid had switched teams. Now I just have to pay for garbage and get angry just taking her to games. I support her just not the decision/team she stayed with. Total waste of money and time. Pretty sure mom has her convinced she is much better than she is.

Would also like the practices to not be on back to back Tues/Wed. nights which I think is a total waste. Why not have them both the same night then if doing it for convenience/just to get it over with?

Just realize Premier 4 edp is vastly different than tier 1 edp, forget ga and ecnl. That 1 goal a game in tier 4 may not equate well in upper levels. Yes playing and practicing with better players will make her better but adjustment may be a tough one. If you want to see what she's made of, go for it
