PDA blue is still the top club in the region.
the region they have a monopoly on? not tough being the best in the region when you control who you play against like 2 of your own inferior teams. the ECNL is sad outside of CA and TX.

U-17 roster released too…. No PDA players. Not a good look. And to answer the earlier question, yes, Casey Murphy is on the National Team.

You’d think a Top 5 ranked club in the nation would have at least 1-2 players on one of these rosters.

U17 has 1 from NE - WCFC player same one. Unfortunately I don’t think we have anyone in our region in the younger years that have what they are looking for.
Which begs the question what are they looking for? I personally don’t get the appeal for a HS kid unless they want to go pro. Outside our small community no one gives a ****.

Not one field player from Solar. We played them in the finals and they have two players that were hands down the two best girls I saw all last year. So Texas also gets the shaft. You would think that from the team that won the ECNL championship you would at least get one or two players. At least they have one girl from the Nationals.

So what that tells us- is what we see is not what they are looking for. And their track record of picking talent didn’t work when the U20 played developed countries. U15 and U17 still playing countries with little funding that string together teams last min.
so is this all political? And therefore what is purpose? There is little money- again what is the purpose?

The results of the YNT suggest the identification system is flawed

Correct. they should do away with the entire YNT- it’s nonsense. Start at U20 and build teams from the college players (choose from live games-have the retired NT players make the picks.
Scouts with no pro experience doesn’t make sense. Who is more equipped to judge a player? A random scout with a checklist or Abby Wambach?

you act like pda can’t compete with teams from texas and cali. I have been there and saw with my own eyes that PDA, Susa, WCFC, Penn Fusion absolutely compete with these teams.

Specific teams yes. Top to bottom no. PDA is certainly the best of that bunch but they also don’t have the density of competitive clubs playing at the level you see in so cal.

Very few clubs have true top teams top to bottom. Nor do single loss games represent all - if a game was very close and competitive it could turn out differently in the next matchup.

I think you two are on the same page but are so used to arguing that it seems like you're contradicting each other.

I think the issue with the US YNT is geography. US talent is spread out throughout our vast country, while smaller countries like England, France, Spain, Japan have their talent in concentrated areas. It is much easier to for the YNT of those countries to bring their talent together for training purposes than it is for the US.

100% true. Each region should field their best team and have a playoff to see who gets to represent the country

This is great idea in theory but politics and club officials would ruin it.

I like the idea. Easiest way is eliminating younger ages and scout from college. Watch them on TV- no travel. Then cherry pick and bring them together. There you have it.
