If that's the case no chance we are losing our best athletes to lax. Soccer is 5x bigger in the US than lax just in youth. If you take into account adults it's more than 13x the number of participants.

You're right. It is a real shame that we are losing our best female athletes to men's basketball, football and baseball.

To follow up on the post re: USYNT camp invites, any specific details as to whether U15 camp invites sent out and if so any details as to how many invites, call backs or new invitees, and location?

You are missing the point. Commend you for trying to find an angle but not catching a football has nothing to do with the explosiveness of the lower body moving at a high speed with elite quickness, agilty and power. The top athletes all play basketball or football. Very few dive in on soccer full time. I don't need my back line on the soccer field to catch a football i need them to step hard and win the ball everytime. I need them to turn hips and recover at a high speed. I need them to own the front of the net on corner kicks.ETC .... Catch a football not needed. Kicking a field goal not needed.

Are you the guy who put field goal kicker and athlete in the same paragraph! Your really trying hard to find an angle. Soccer bubble guy!!

What you explain as a great athlete playing soccer is exactly what’s wrong with American soccer. When the men played in the world cup didn’t see a team that was over matched athletically. I saw a team of guys who at the very highest levels were not at the same level tactically and in aome areas skill wise. But keep thinking it’s only about athleticism. That’s the same thing that happens to USA basketball teams that play against less athletic European teams and get embarrassed. Who are the two best players in the NBA right now? Not the most athletic by far but know the game and are very skilled. Both white and from Europe.

USA men were a step behind on evreything . Couldnt keep up , Small part of our team can run and have pace . Race has nothing to do with it you missed the point.

At least some of the U15 camp invites were definitely sent out. No idea on the numbers, but I know of one girl who was invited.

I think you missed the point. If you have to think twice each time about what you need to do or where to be, guess who is always going to be a step behind?

Amazing how some players who are abjectly slow compared to their peers are fully capable of playing at the highest levels and succeeding. They are better soccer players not better athletes.

YNT invites were sent out. some not invited back after portland so there should be new players on roster.
