You will see a different list. Our state is a who knows whom state and it backfires when we present the wrong players for political reasons.

It is pure politics and I do not believe my kid really belongs. SHe has done the YNT ID thing and she is a good, sometimes really good but not GREAT player at the moment. She has one teammate that is truly excellent and I cannot believe some of the kids who are going instead of this girl. I saw this years ago with politics and here again, it makes zero sense.

Decent scouts should be able to watch a game and identify the talented players. If they need a coaches suggestion, they are simply not doing a good job, they are being lazy or the talent is simply not good enough to stand out.

Perhaps the politics aren't at the YNT ID but within your club. On my kids club there are multiple players who start over players with more skill, IQ and athletisism, usually those kids have either been at the club forever and the parents are tied into the organization or friendly with the coach. It's great to have neutral scouts evaluate and select the players without parental influence. Most of the comments talking about politics from the YNT ID are likely from parents who no longer have the infuence they are used to.

Club directors with connections to the YNT scouts and staff definitely trade favors. Getting kids to Chula Vista is a huge marketing bonus for them.
