What the club, coaches, kids, want, and the game needs, is to learn to play.

What the parents want, who pay for all that, is to win.



To be clear, that doesn't mean clubs, coaches, and players don't want to want. Winning is part of development, so you should always strive to win. That's the goal; it's just not as important as learning. I can guarantee we don't recall the scores of that Memorial Day Tournament 5 years ago, but I do remember how much better she got that year.
