Is there a reason why at U12 teams leave their league (generally EDP) to go elsewhere - Why do some teams stay and some go - I see Match fit have a team at 2011 girls but don’t see PDA or STA anymore. The boys is basically non existent now from the U11 EDP league only FA really. None of those teams begin their academy leagues at that age so where or more importantly why do they go elsewhere.

When teams like PDA white are losing to teams like freehold and basically get beat up in their own ECNL region (since they are in there with their Blue/A team which is usually awesome). Just think, there are 3 PDA teams in ECNL, and 3 more in ECRL, and teams like Freehold and wall can give their #2 or #3 teams a good game, you just wonder what #4, #5 and #6 would actually do in EDP Premier-1 and such

If teams are with an ECNL, GA or MLSN club they move into those leagues at the appropriate time. Then there's the good players at other clubs that want the higher leagues and move in middle school. All it takes is a few key players leaving and teams can fall apart. It's rare for an entire team to stay together from U little to HS in part because outside those top leagues there aren't many places for them to play. Top EDP bracket is quite good but after that it does a cliff fall. 64 is too early to tell but so far let's say it's "not consistent and too early to tell".
Also keep in mind lots of kids drop out of the sport in MS for other interests. There is a very tight funnel going into the HS years.

How is it a stronger league. I’m not sure if I’m reading results right but no one really blew out the others in their respective divisions. Why have the us model of 7v7, 9v9 and 11v11 if we’re always going to try and move to it a year early. Isn’t it there to help develop kids?!

Same reason there is a age level yet kids constantly play up a year. Every team seems to have one or 2 kids that feel the need to play up. Teams feel the need to play up.
it’s a better league because it has stronger teams in it.

For the boys side a lot of teams also moved to the APL/ACELA league, where Redbulls, Philly Union, etc. play as well. Teams like FA, PDA, Union SC and Matchfit are all in there.
