2011 pda blue doesn’t seem to be all that there were cracked up to be. Might be time for some changes.

Nope, kids are good, the way they teach them to play the game needs to change. As someone mentioned before, robot playing is not right way to play soccer. Teaching to play team soccer at age 10 ,11 even 12 is not way to develop a great soccer player. They know that but they don't care, the only thing that counts is win column.

I watched them on Saturday. Team is definitely not loaded and have a very hard time scoring. The defense is pretty solid. Big midfielder is calm on ball, keeps her head up and makes good passes. But the forwards aren’t great. The teams as everyone knows start to concentrate more on defense as they get older and scoring becomes much harder. The same girl who scored consistently at 11u just may not be good enough to do it at 12-13u.

4-3-3. They try to connect passes. Looked sloppy at times but it could also be the way Delco was playing them as well?

I watched some of the 09 delco team play. They seemed to be playing kick and run.

How can you play soccer without kicking a ball and running? I think kicking and running are very necessary soccer skills, so I guess they are playing correctly.

they do sometimes if the other teams defense is hanging high play boot the ball as far over and have their fastest (which they have a couple) forwards run it down

It’s a tactic. I didn’t say it was incorrect. They just seemed to kick it high and far and hope for a defender to make a mistake.

This is about 2011 team. Delco has a very skilled midfielder, one oft he best in the league.

There will be a few, but not too many. They still play the subs a good amount and play out of the back even in close games where they shouldn’t if they were focused on winning.

I’m sure that concept is foreign to most. Especially those who get excited over “BIG KICKS.”

So true the experience they are getting will be invaluable in the future. Not sure how 2010 plays but 2011 will benefit from this.
