If a player can devlop playing up then your doing the player a disservice by keping them in an environment where they are not being challenged. Yes players at ECNL play up at good clubs on good teams,

      That's not the case here.

If the player is a superstar and makes it on the team above then they are part of that team and permanently “playing up”. But if the player is playing on the team above as a special favor to the parent then we are talking about a parent demanding special treatment, and getting it. Two totally different things.

The comment above is clearly written by a parent who has asked for special treatment. If you are getting special favors for guest play opportunities on the team above, the “disservice” is to the team that you came to play on. They are missing out on play time and resent you being there. And the disservice is to your own team who you are essentially saying “I am too good for you”. Which you are not. So you annoy about 40 players, 80 parents in the process of your little superstar getting special treatment. This is the problem with the parents who ask for special treatment, they are thinking about me me me.

How do you know they asked for special treatment? Maybe they asked for her. People seem to know so much about children that are not their own.

Every situation is different. Every club is different . While that may happen it is clearly not always the case. You have not seen enough and obviously your club operates in the stated fashion of placement or you viewed it that way. You child or team has experinced this for real or believed it was the case. Your using a broad brush to paint this situation.

This situation with a girl playing up on 07’s, doesn’t say much about the 08’s

Not a parent who asked for special treatment. We have a player our birth year playing up and she deserves it. Simple. No one scorned or upset at our club about it.

Yes unfortunately the 08s are not very good. Probably more to the kid playing up two years. Hell I wouldnt drop $1200 dollars for a weekend in Tenn. especially if not one coach is allowed to contact my 09 daughter nor will thet remember them. Parents must have bank to do that in passing! Good for them.

That’s not accurate. PDA routinely plays kids up.

No it’s not routinely. Even the player of the year in NJ and a national team player played age appropriate.
