I thought the rule was once High School season is over (Nov. 15th) that ECNL teams could no longer use trapped players.

Maryland has a longer HS season.

Not sure which side used the trapped player but - they usually are the same level as the younger team and some are only a month older than your kid. Or their parents held them back bc they not that smart. Trapped players are not a winning solution.

Bethesda used multiple trapped players this fall. Their ECNL record last year was 7-6-3 and this fall it's 6-1-2 because of the 08 players. .

Please don't forget the knock on RT was always that he wins at younger ages, but isn't developing the team. They've added no talent, and their top end athletes can't win games alone anymore. Also, the high pressing tactics less effective now that all the girls can't hit a decent long ball out of pressure. I was not at the game, but this is generally how youth soccer goes.
