And my husband as well must sign a code of ethics every year for work and as the team treasurer, he is liable.
Years ago the town board treasurer stole almost half a million dollars from the club. The same people who were on the board then are on the board now. I would think they are being watched but the board doesn’t seem to care. They encourage us to fundraise with illegal games and even promote defying the state law.
They hold casino days with no permits. They have tournaments with raffles that are not licensed. Hell they even fix their 50/50s every year.
I don’t want to be a baby but I am a brand new coach and it’s scary that if I don’t do these types of things, my team will pay more by not having the funds the other teams get.
I have confronted the board and asked how they can do these things illegally and they always say “you can do it- no one checks”. I’m just at a loss. What would you do?
Do you really have enough free time to complain about a non-profit soccer club's fundraising? You should start a dog walking business

Hold up there, why should the original poster be punished or put her job in jeopardy? These people let the insurance payout to recoup the money stolen lapse. It’s not about the fundraising. It’s about the fiscal irresponsibility of the parties and therefore they are being watched. She doesn’t want to go down for their inability to do things right.
I don’t know why anyone thinkg coming here is worth getting an answer. Just let them continue taking out the entire board for a lavish Christmas party spending thousands while the fields are **** and you can’t even use the restrooms or use the snack bar.

Then don't include the fundraising in the post complaining about the club if that's not part of it. Just makes them seem petty when they could very well have legitimate reasons for being cautious about participating in general.

Rigging the 50/50 is problematic if true but that could easily be done in public to prohibit any shenanigans.

Just stop being the treasurer or person that handles money. Work commitment, not enough time, any reason. Then stop worrying about what other people are doing. Enjoy your kids

That is easy to do when you have already left the club in disgrace and just using anonymous message board to spread misinformation at the expense of the kids playing soccer.

Omg just leave. Lie if you have to - you've gotten too busy or whatever. Your husband is the one at risk because he signed those statements and remains at risk if he stays. Game enforcement is almost never prosecuted but I'd go to the authorities to protect myself.

I suggest you pay out of your pocket or quit. You are already stealing from the taxpayer as a State "worker" so you know it works here in Dirty Jersey. How's much was that super bowl office pool payout last year?

Everyone knows who this is. You would think she would be content with her children's success on and off the field instead of trying to stir up trouble for her former club and making headaches for her husband.
