Pennington is a very good team with very strong and well-drilled players, and on home turf. The first half was all Pennington, but this young RPS team came out in the second half and almost sent it to overtime.

It was the most exciting game to watch this season. Two NJ powerhouses going at each other. It was a joy to experience.

So much hate for RPS and such little celebration for Pennington in these comments. It says it all.

We must have watched different games. Was obvious there were some nerves on RP and they had very little time on the ball overall. The gameplan (if that is what one would call it) might work against teams that aren't comfortable on the ball but they were extremely lucky to even score. There was no foul so the free kick goal was a gift.

Pennington have been #1 in NJ for a while. They don't play in States because of the age issue. To anyone in the know it's no surprise that they won but it is a surprise it was only 2-1. Credit to RP. I don't think any other NJ HS team could take Pennington that close in a Final. Both are very good teams.

Honest question, why is there so much hate from adults to a bunch of kids? I don’t understand it but maybe I am missing something. This blog seems to filled with adults talking negatively about children and doing so anonymously.

Sure and RP woke up this morning with a W-lol.

The game was one sided and RP was very fortunate to even be in sniffing distance.

Any insight on why the RP midfield was absent for this game?

Post grads but that isn't an issue when playing other preps.

Maybe take of the rose-colored glasses and realize the majority of posts aren't individual criticism. I have no idea who the RP midfield is but watching the game made me think how it is possible they are undefeated. Dribble, dribble, dribble and then lose possession. I would have pulled AH back into a more central role as 1 v 4 every time the ball made it to the other half didn't seem to be a good game plan against a solid squad.

Not every prep school has a post grad program. Schools like Hun, Peddie, Lawrenceville and I believe Pennington all have post grad programs.

Don’t spend energy trying to make sense of it. The simplest explanation is that their kid’s team got rocked by RPS. They are now Pennington School bandwagon fans that in their minds got a one up on RPS by proxy.

Just because Mr. Softy characterizes it as hate maybe it is a valid observation. How about this. Great game RP but your midfield stunk. Both are true.
