PDA blues under certain coaches. LH, MO teams are pretty good at keeping the ball moving without smashing the ball forward.
But then you look at MS -the smash from the back is a special. It actually wins games against most teams. But when it comes to top teams it falls apart instantly.

Which is why choosing a coach is more important than choosing a badge

Knowing how much other football is available it makes it hard to get through even just a half. Its the nature of the women's game, which is fed by our youth leagues where physicality and sprint speed are valued above iq, technical ability and vision. Doesnt mean i dont hope for my kid to play at that level, but we recognize that as the game goes, it aint pretty.
First you say you couldn’t watch the Euros on ESPN and then you say it’s fed by our youth leagues? Make up your mind, what does watching Germany, France, England and Sweden have to do with our youth soccer. Sorry it disappoints you that in your opinion it’s not pretty. Watching Euros 2022 was a huge success with the fans and soccer pundits who know a lot more about soccer than you.

People are ridiculous. What sport at a youth level ever resembles a professional level? There is a reason people make millions of dollars to play professional sports. If people think spending 4k on youth sports will make a group of girls play like professionals, they need to get their heads checked.

i dont think the OP is off base. You are assuming that sound fundamentals are required to achieve a players goals. They may not be. There are many young women playing College soccer, getting an education who are not fundamentally sound. Is the conversation about the fundamentals required to be a female pro, male pro, College player at a top 150 School, top 10? Without context, impossible to engage intelligently

Except both Messi and Cruyff can/could juggle. Very well. They’ve clearly spent time on it. My point was that I agree with the premise of focusing on the tricks and/or juggling for the sake of a number (1000) is not productive but juggling to gain mastery of the ball and work on perfecting touches is a basic skill that all great soccer players have spent a lot of time on. Not all great jugglers can play soccer, but all great soccer players can juggle.

IG had made soccer look like a juggling circus. There was a once a time where it appeared if you could juggle you could ball-
but those kids as they grew past HS could not ball but could juggle really well.

Would love this groups opinion on the U20 performance. Beat technically and athletically? Or just technically? Japan is a very technical team but not as athletic as NED and they beat them. How do we explain what has happened during these games.

So when is ECNL going to post a new college impact? They seem to not have published one since 2019. GA has their 1st year numbers posted https://girlsacademyleague.com/class-of-2022/ not to bad for a 2nd rate league.
